Day 2 —Tell about a character who lost something important to him/her.
She lost herself. In the midst of looking for an answer to her problems, she lost herself in a codependent way; in seeking the answers elsewhere, she lost the essence of herself and adopted the solutions of another. Someone very similar to her, so it seemed, but as time went on, she began to resent seeking out another instead of getting to know herself. She felt fake; imaginary. She had taken herself apart and never put herself back together. And now, stuck in a cycle of answering her own questions with another’s answers, she knew she had to escape. She had thought she was saving herself, but what she was doing was opposite; she was succumbing to the manipulative passive aggressiveness of another who hid behind the concept of love. Only after completely incorporating her life into his, did she realize this. How could she escape? Though a general overall caring prevailed, she could no longer admit to being ‘in love.’ She first realized this when she couldn’t stand to be around him. Those trivial idiocracies and annoyances, that were so easily tolerated at first, became worse, and unbearable. The lack of motivation, laziness, ability to make an excuse for everything… She couldn’t tolerate it anymore. She had to leave. She had to find herself. She had to improve and put all those pieces back together again. She didn’t know how or when, but she knew she had to, to save herself.
